After 18, I was permitted...but she still glared at me. I still remember my utter shock the first time I heard her mother use any less than pristine language..I was completely shocked (it was also part of the onset of her Alzheimer's, I now believe). OTOH, my filters regarding appropriate language over meals is less than perfect. The result of too many years hearing my mom talk about her emergency room cases over supper.
