Spin to Knit Secret Pal Exchange Update

Filed under: General — Autumn Breeze at 8:18 pm on Sunday, February 4, 2007

I got beautiful mohair singles the other day from my secret pal. It was dyed with Kool-Aid in purples and blues. I think it is destined to become a scarf. Way Cool.

Colors are a bit off.  It is purple and blue.  I don’t know what flavor of Kool-Aid makes blue.  I am pretty sure the purple is grape.  At least it smells a bit grapish.

There is a nice sheen from the mohair.  Really pretty stuff.

Carry.

Dear Carry,

I’m really behind on my podcasts so I’m only just now responding to your question about splitting up the podcasts. Health issues and drowning my poor ipod are the reasons I’m behind. Don’t ask!

Originally I subscribed to your podcast because of the knitting. In just 3 episodes (and I’ve listened to them all,for almost a year) I was hooked on whatever it was you had to share with your listeners. I love the knitting content because of your organic approach to the craft. And, I would subscribe to both if you did split up the content into two podcasts. But, since your podcast is an ideal length, about that of an episode on NPR’s This American Life, I really don’t think it’s necessary to go to the trouble for those who don’t want the other riches you have to offer. Why not just title the episodes with knitting content with a relevant phrase so those others can skip them. You see, my job requires me to work directly with the public and I’m always amazed by the shameless demands (in NYC we call this ‘chutzpah’) some people are willing to make. IMHO.

We are all very lucky that you share what you do with us.

Cool! I got mine too and was blown away. My secret pal got hers and I sent mine off as well. I’m glad the whole swap thing is working out cause this is the first time I have done this.
Great show, and thanks for podcasting.
