i took violin when i was in jr high and loved it. then i fell in love with the guitar. which i hardly ever play, but i keep it for those rare times when it's 5am on a saturday and...well...that's another story.
i wish i had a violin.
if you really don't want it, i'll give it a good home and finally start to take violin again after all of these years!

Great story, Carry. Hang on to that fiddle.

BTW, twenty years later, DH still tells the story about moving me out of my condo when we were going to live together. He looked around at all the heavy cast iron pots and other cooking paraphernalia and wondered if he had made the right decision.

Wow, that's a hard one. I'm not a pack rat. Or rather I'm a reformed pack rat.

While it's OK to keep some things for sentimental reasons, it's not like the objects keep the stories locked inside them. Especially if they are stowed away where you can't look at them frequently. You can't recall fond memories when you can't see it. If you keep it, just make sure it's not tucked under the bed. Mount it on a wall or something. Treat it like an important object it is, and not ballast.

I don't think he'd mind if you sold it or gave it away to someone who would use it. Just if you sell it, make sure you knowhow much it was worth. Some are quite expensive!
