KnitWit 91: Pack It Up

Filed under: podcast — Autumn Breeze at 7:02 pm on Tuesday, October 23, 2007

I have a very odd way of packing.  I discuss some of the oddities in today’s show.

I am on the road so I am using a head-set mic and I am in a different location.  The sound is off.  I did not want to wait ’til I got home to record.

Let me know what you think.

Do you know of anyone else who packs as I do?

Carry, I pack pretty much the same way you do. My kids always had me organize their packing. That is until they finally figured it out for themselves. We camped when they were little and the rule was “if it doesn’t fit in your pack, it doesn’t go.” the exception being sleeping bags. When my daughter went to Germany as an exchange student, she backed a medium sized carry on bag, a military zippered ditty bag and a daypack that doubled as her purse. This was for a 6 week trip with no more and 5 days in one place. Everyone was astounded at what she had and hadn’t packed. I’m the same way. I guess some of that is our military brat training.

the more i listen to your podcast, the more i’m convinced that we’re long lost relations… i pack the same way! my husband was stunned that i packed everything we needed for a weekend camping trip in the back of our van. we have a family of 6 & the twins still ride in the jogging stroller. it was tight, but when you can see how the pieces go together, it works!
