KnitWit 115: Goats

Filed under: podcast — Autumn Breeze at 5:42 pm on Sunday, April 13, 2008

Today, I talk about goats.

  1. How to tell a goat from a sheep.
  2. Different uses of goats: meat, milk, and fiber.
  3. Fiber goats - Angora and cashmere.

I have no idea how to clean or process cashmere.  If you do, please let me know.

I have never processed cahmere myself but I can certainly tell you where to send it to be processed if you are interested. I know it is expensive to process because it has to go through the machines so many times in order for it to come out clean since it is so fine. So, if interested just let me know and I will hook you up!!

Thanks, Carry! I have been wondering about the differences between cashmere and angora and the like. I was very fuzzy on details.
