I have a somewhat peculiar clothes habit; I wear shorts under my skirts. The reason dates back to my senior year of high school.

Background; even though where we lived can get pretty warm, even in late spring, students were not allowed to wear shorts to school. After all, the school's air conditioned. However, I had a half-mile walk from the bus stop to home so I would wear skirts to school, with shorts underneath. Then when I got off the bus, I'd put the skirt into my pack and walk home in shorts.

One late spring day we had assembly first thing in the morning. I was wearing a wrap-around skirt and as I exited the hall, I noticed a distinct draft. I looked down & I could see my entire skirt; even the parts that should have been behind me. My skirt had not just come untied, it had come unwrapped. However, I was wearing shorts and was thus saved massive embarrassment.

As a result, to this day, I wear shorts. And that has been a good thing. Like the day that I got soaking wet and having shorts meant that I could hang my skirt up to dry & still be decently dressed.

Good morning, I really enjoy your stories. Thanks for keeping them coming. I remember you asking for story material. How about the histories and origins of knitting techniques or articles? Like gansey knitting, fair isle, faroese. There are a few good ones that come from asia as well.
