Maryland Announcement

Filed under: General — Autumn Breeze at 9:04 am on Tuesday, April 29, 2008

The weather is looking bad.  It is highly probable that I will not be wearing the BBF and the basket.

The only place and time that is currently on my books is the Ravelry get together:

Saturday, May 3: the Rabbit Building from 11:30 - 1:00

Sunday, May 4: the Rabbit Building from 1:00 - 2:30

I don’t know if I will stay the entire time.

I hope to see you there.

Update on Damsel.

She went to the vet and got she last shots and de-wormed.

She is doing very well. We are slowly getting her introduced to the rest of the family.

Today I tell a story about my experience in the girl scouts.

What do you think? Where they are drugs or what?

Happy anniversary. Did you think we would make it this long?

I have nothing to really talk about. I answer some questions concerning podcasting and previous shows. Also, I complain about the weather.

I must also say that Dash is a complete clown when she sees the camera.

Can you believe she is my pretty one?

Tell me what you think.

Amendment to How much yarn? part 2

Filed under: General — Autumn Breeze at 1:59 pm on Saturday, March 24, 2007

Amendment to last weeks show. If you are making a non-standard sweater the 3/2 rule of thumb wont work.

Instead you need to calculate the sleeve and body separately.

Body area is easy. It is the total circumference times the length of the sweater.
BA = C*L

where

  • C = total circumference of the sweater at the widest point
  • L = length of the sweater

The sleeves can be thought of as two triangles. The area of both sleeve then is the width of the sleeve at the wrist plus the width at the widest points of the sleeve times the length of the sleeve.

SA = (w1 + w2) * S

where

  • w1 = width of sleeve at the narrowest point
  • w2 = width of sleeve at widest point
  • S = length of the sleeve

Total sweater area is the sum of the body area and the sleeve area.

TA = BA + SA
I hope this makes sense.

Good News!!!

It’s good news.  The mass is not cancer.  It is a fibroadenoma.  What I called a fibrous tumor.  Perfectly normal for a woman of my age.

I will tell you all about the biopsy experience and more during the next podcast.
Thank you for all your well-wishes and positive thoughts.

(Kori, I lost your comment.  It got marked as spam.  I marked it as not spam then hit the wrong button and deleted all.  Would you please re-post?  I thought it was a great point and should be kept in the records for others to see.)

Thank you.

Wii & Mii

Filed under: General — Autumn Breeze at 1:34 am on Tuesday, February 13, 2007

Carry got a Nintendo Wii last month from me. We want to have a mii parade.

Thanks to Robert Lyttle for sharing his instructions which I edited slightly to give you our Wii number and ask you to send us yours. If you haven’t done this before here is the way to do it:

From http://wiitod.com/let’s-have-a-nintendo-mii-parade/

The first step to get your parade going is to obtain your Wii console number, to do that you must follow these steps:

1. In your main Wii menu on the bottom right hand side of the screen there is an envelope that you must click in order to move on.

2. On the next screen on the bottom left hand corner there is a piece of paper with a pen and when you hover your pointer over it, “create message” is displayed. Click on the icon.

3. The next screen has 3 buttons on it, a memo pad, an envelope and an address book. Click the address book to move on.

4. On the bottom right of this screen there is a button that says “register your console”. Click this and you will now have your 16 digit Wii console number. This is the number to send to your friends. We are your friends so send it to carry dot autumnbreeze at gmail dot com or share it here as a comment.

Now that you have your Wii console number, you must add your friends Wii console number to your address book. Follow these steps to accomplish this:

1. Go back to your address book following the above steps and click on the register button once again.

2. There are 2 buttons on this screen, one with a picture of a Wii console and the other a picture of a computer, phone and keyboard. Click the Wii console button. (The other button is to add a regular email address).

3. You will be prompted to enter a 16 digit Wii console number, enter your friends console number then hit “ok” and they are now added to your address book, then give that wii a nickname. Yeah, we are almost done. Enter the number 5524 6117 4883 4903 for Carry/Autumn/Wayne/Nobody.

After adding all of your friends Wii console numbers, we still have to make sure your Mii characters are set to mingle and set to travel.

To set your Mii characters to travel you must go into the Mii parade, which is done through the Mii channel. There is a button on the top right hand side of your Mii channel to enter into the parade. Once in the parade toggle the setting of your Mii’s to “travel”. Now for the last step if you have not done this already is to set your Mii’s to “mingle”. In your Mii channel you can drag and drop your Mii’s onto the edit button by hovering over the selected Mii and holding A and B at the same time to pick them up then simply drop them on the “edit “ button. On the first tab of the Edit screen toggle your mingle option to ON.

After following these step and having your friends do the same with your Wii console number you should be ready for a parade only time will tell. Another neat thing about doing this is that your Mii characters and your friends Mii’s will now be in your games (They will be on the baseball roster, observers in bowling, etc. only if you transfer the Mii’s to your plaza).

These instructions were gathered from http://wiitod.com/let’s-have-a-nintendo-mii-parade/

We look forward to seeing your Miis soon.

Spin to Knit Secret Pal Exchange Update

Filed under: General — Autumn Breeze at 8:18 pm on Sunday, February 4, 2007

I got beautiful mohair singles the other day from my secret pal. It was dyed with Kool-Aid in purples and blues. I think it is destined to become a scarf. Way Cool.

Colors are a bit off.  It is purple and blue.  I don’t know what flavor of Kool-Aid makes blue.  I am pretty sure the purple is grape.  At least it smells a bit grapish.

There is a nice sheen from the mohair.  Really pretty stuff.

Podcast delayed until Monday

Filed under: General — Nobody at 6:34 pm on Saturday, October 21, 2006

Carry remains captive of the NC State Fair. She plans on recording and posting Monday. To appease her fans I have added 11 new pictures taken this week of the menagerie. Just click the Pictures link at the top of the page. I hope you enjoy them. I am shocked by how many visitors I had to the first page of pictures. I will try to add more images as the seasons change.
