<itunes:summary>This is a way off topic rant. I am mad. Furious about something that happened miles away. Something that I can't do a damn thing about.

Someone hurt one of the most precious person to me.

What was done would piss me off if it was a stranger. To have it happen to someone I love, has put me in a real tizzy.

Since I am having problems seeing past my being upset, I talk about it. I hope you don't mind.

I would appreciate any advice on dealing with this.

Just a short non-show to give you some updates.

Damsel is over 7 lbs. Vet was real thrilled with her weight gain and how she is looking except for the tail. It still looks groody. We will have to try a sulfur treatment on it to try to clear it up. Not looking forward to that lovely smell.

Sheep got sheared. I tried to get another story from Scott but he had a date with his girlfriend. I understand priorities. He said maybe next year. He did tell me his parents found the episode and gave him a hard time about telling stories instead of doing his job.

Maryland Sheep and Wool festival is right around the corner. I would love to get together with you. I want to arrange a get-together time for Saturday late afternoon. When will work for you?

Let me know.

Sadie has stayed home for over a week. Yeah!

I finish the story of how I got away with knitting in class in high school.

Thanks to Mike for asking the question in the first place. I know I was long winded in answering it. But you know, there was a story there.

If you have any questions about anything I have ever said, don't hesitate to ask. I will either answer you directly or maybe, there will be a story to tell in the answering.

Sadie is still being a problem

New computer was returned. I have ordered a new new one.

Today's story.

Traveling cross country with my family followed a set routine. The time table was precise. The division of labor was clear. Expectations were known.

Some people just didn't get it. I don't know why.

What do you think?

Computer support is denying there is an issue with their computer and drivers. Just how often do you have to install device drivers?

So instead of me wasting your time listening to me moan and groan, I play the Neel sisters' stories I recorded at the Maryland Sheep and Wool festivals.

<itunes:summary>Linen comes from the flax plant. Flax was first cultivated in ancient Egypt. It was widely cultivated in Europe in the middle ages.

Flax gives us flax seed and linseed oil as well as linen.

Getting linen out of flax is a time consuming and labor intensive activity. You have to rot, dry, break, scrape, and comb the stalks to get the linen.

Linen is usually spun using a distaff, which really is just an extra hand. Wet spinning produces a smoother yarn. After spun, the yarn is boiled and blocked to set the twist.

Please let me know if you have any questions or know of any good stories concerning linen.
